It's dangerous for me to rootle in my stash closet. I was cleaning out some Stash of Shame the other day, and a cone of Colourmart 3/45 Japanese Maple (courtesy of LaceFreak) fell on my head. I'll get to the waffle in a minute.
I picked it up, admired it, and before you could say Waffle, I had cast on another sample for the Spring shawl.
I love the lavender, but the red shows the pattern so much better.
I'm waffling.

Very simple - do both!!
Touche' Got me on that one! But yours look perfect where I had gaping mistakes! But I do have alternate plans for the blue jeans yarn - I see another Triangles within Triangles in my future!!
I'd go with the red...the Japanese maple is gorgeousl. Full disclosure is that I'm on a red kick as of late.
Red, red, red, red, red!!! :) I'll be beautiful.
Red
If you the lavender on a black background then it would show the pattern more. Simple photography tick. I like the red, as you can tell. :)
I like them both. The lavender is lovely, but at the end of winter I always crave red.
Go eat some waffles, and then work on the red!
Ha! *Love* the waffle with wings. I can really relate. I personally like the red, but I think you'll come to your own decision in your own time. :)
Red!
I'll rootle thru your stash, baby. ;)
The red. Looks like a spring tulip!
We just had waffles for dinner. Yes, I sometimes make breakfast food for dinner, and I enjoy it.
Anyhow, I'd go with the red too.
You really have a affinity for reds you know that? It looks sweet in the lavender but KICKS BUTT in Red. Somehow I think you were not looking for sweet....
The lavender is very pretty but the is something about that red, I think it would be stunning.
I'm not a big red fan especially bright reds, but I have to agree the lace looks better in it :o)
Another vote for the red! And it's an extra yummy shade of red too.
I love the lavender but I have to agree that the Japanese Maple shows the pattern better. I am also partial to the JM bacause I have it in my stash and it's a beauty.
I think the background colour is fooling you a bit. if y ou photographed them on a dark background, the lavender would look lovely too! Although, honestly, I can't decide. I love botht he red AND the lavender....
I love both colors. I would do the one in the color that was yelling louder. It might just be me, but colors speak to me and I try to listen. By the way, they are both wonderful colors. If the one you pass up feels neglected, just send her to me. I will cheer her right up...
Both colours are fab, although I'm quite partial to that shade of red. I gather that's what you went with in the end...
