Finally! I just couldn't take a good picture of it. My room is tiny and has poor lighting to boot. This is the best I can do.
I was going to give it away to a friend, but after I put it around my shoulders, I decided to be a selfish fink and keep it. So soft!

ReplyDeleteSo airy, so soft looking. It's a wonderful shawl. You are right to keep it for yourself! ;o)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! It's lovely and elegant and she'll never know.
ReplyDeleteI'd have been hard put to give it away too -- it's lovely!
ReplyDeleteVery lovely. The yarn striping looks really nice.
ReplyDeleteoooh--soft and pretty! I don't blame you for keeping it. :)
ReplyDeleteYour shawl looks just gorgeous, Fleegle - Congratulations ! I wouldn't part with it myself!!
ReplyDeleteYour shawl is gorgeous! Sometimes it’s good to be selfish. ;)
ReplyDeleteReally cool looking shawl.......
ReplyDeleteYour swallowtail looks great in the self striping yarn. You are right to keep it - I don't think non-knitters appreciate hand knits as much as knitters do. Besides, you deserve to be warm!
ReplyDeleteDear fleegle,
ReplyDeleteReally lovely shawl. I always say I'm going to keep a swallowtail shawl for myself but so far I've knit two and own none LOL. I would not blame you at all for keeping it.
Just beautifull.
ReplyDeleteI was always a bit reluctant to mix lace patterns with variegated yarn but your shawl absolutely proves me wrong. Enjoy it !
Silvia
Gorgeous job, Harry! Really, you're too unselfish, letting Fleegle take all the credit.
ReplyDeleteThe variegated yarn really made this pattern pop. I'd have never considered it but wow! I think I'd keep it too!
ReplyDeleteDear Lori--
ReplyDeleteHarry didn't knit this shawl, I did. Harry has a real problem with mohair--it sticks to his legs.
But he has been busy designing Harry's Shawl, so at least he left me alone so I could finish it!
Perhaps the "ceramic" yarn people could invent Harry some teflon yarn to knit himself some leg warmers. That'd fix the sticky business. Don't tell me--there's already teflon yarn, isn't there?
ReplyDeleteDear Lori--
ReplyDeleteOf course there's teflon yarn! See here:

That is so great! The variegation is so soft and lovely, it goes really well.
