Wonderful comparison of yarns and I'm glad you have selected a "winner". Now the only question is, what color will you and Harry make the shawl in? Great fun!Lacefreakhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06291336363387079445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4463307798012270911.post-9966733337345542022007-06-12T08:30:00.000-05:002007-06-12T08:30:00.000-05:00Thanks for the info, Fleegle. You wouldn’t be interested in my candidates though, since most have some silk content. Plus you eliminated the only all wool one in your last swatching post. I’m curious about the Angel. It seems to be the heaviest of all the yarns you’ve swatched. Wouldn’t it give you a much larger finished shawl?Colettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05426327123412600571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4463307798012270911.post-32356789546979666092007-06-11T15:08:00.000-05:002007-06-11T15:08:00.000-05:00Perfect 10, eh? Well, I'm certainly tempted to go buy some immediately (especially since the Yarn Place site appears to be functional now).

I like me some wool, too. :)missalicefayehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03087111607375907675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4463307798012270911.post-58975280263509948132007-06-11T08:52:00.000-05:002007-06-11T08:52:00.000-05:00I loved the swatches, can't wait to see what the f...I loved the swatches, can't wait to see what the finished product looks like!Battyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03892116045581715793noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4463307798012270911.post-50760108189759140062007-06-10T22:50:00.000-05:002007-06-10T22:50:00.000-05:00I love the idea of dropping a stitch to see how it...I love the idea of dropping a stitch to see how it behaves in the swatch. While it is a lovely yarn, it is much too heavy for Princess.fleeglehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06348327363198905898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4463307798012270911.post-35337399327189163142007-06-10T22:10:00.000-05:002007-06-10T22:10:00.000-05:00Thank you for the excellent notes on yarn comparis...Thank you for the excellent notes on yarn comparison. Did you by any chance try Lorna's Laces laceweight merino/silk (Helen Lace) as well? If so, how did it compare to the other yarns?
I am knitting with it right now and like it a lot. It's much easier to knit with than the Habu 2-ply cashmere. I am curious to see how the finished and washed shawl will compare to the Habu one. That really came into its own only after washing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
