It was a bear to do. I, too, am working with black. I think my yarn is a thicker laceweight (4000 yards per lb), but being alpaca, it is very slick like silk.Kayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12929160670599039134noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4463307798012270911.post-6276602595906057422007-09-09T13:01:00.000-05:002007-09-09T13:01:00.000-05:00OMG Susan, when do you ever sleep? I also did the 'x repeats and then I can work on something more interesting - even if it's a sock heel' mantra.

My Widow's Shawl is a very simple one compared to yours and was in jumper weight shetland. It is my 'everyday' shawl for warmth at the office. The details are here: http://threadsandstring.blogspot.com/2006/08/fo-widows-shawl.html

Dark yarns are AMAZING. They are such a pain to work with, hard on the eyes, but so dramatic when you pin them out. Well worth the hassle.Karla (ThreadBndr)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15069952972112949772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4463307798012270911.post-66337952219783704732007-09-08T08:22:00.000-05:002007-09-08T08:22:00.000-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Karla (ThreadBndr)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15069952972112949772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4463307798012270911.post-76341839882562766072007-09-08T03:37:00.000-05:002007-09-08T03:37:00.000-05:00Boring, but beautiful. I'm still knitting the edging on side # 3 of Boundary Waters and I want to slit my wrists everytime I force myself to knit a few repeats. Boooooring! Still, the shawl is well worth the effort.
